Losing weight is often a very discouraging process. There is often a point when losing weight where losing more pounds just seems impossible. Fortunately, you can continue your progress from a plateau by trying something else. Use these tips to boost your weight loss speed.
Weight Loss
Skipping meals is counterproductive to any weight loss program. If you skip a meal, you’ll be all that much hungrier when it comes time for your next meal, which means you are more likely to stuff your face. As tempting as it may be to simply duck out on a few meals here and there, this tactic is actually counterproductive to a goal of weight loss.
One tip to help in weight loss is to only eat the whites of the eggs. Although the yolks have certain nutrients, they contain high levels of cholesterol and fat which may work against your diet. By eating egg whites you’ll get plenty of quality protein.
French Fries
It is hard to find someone who does not love the taste of french fries. They can be a problem for anyone trying to lose weight. If you must consume French fries, bake them instead of frying. Cut potatoes into 1/2″ fries, toss in a large bowl with 1 tbsp. of oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and a bit of rosemary if you like, and bake in a single layer at 400 degrees for 30 min. Gently lift them so they don’t stick, flip them over and then continue baking for about 10 more minutes. They are wonderful with ketchup, and they are also much lower in calories of fat. If all you need to take off is five pounds, hydration will get you most of the way there. Quick weight loss plans usually result in weight gain. This is only temporary weight loss, but it can be a good motivator to get started dropping those pounds for good.
If you do cardiovascular workouts, losing weight can be easy. Cardio can include anything from running and biking to walking. Your body burns fat most effectively during periods in which your heart rate is elevated. It is optimal to run or ride the bike for at least two or three hours per week.
Be sure to include a variety of food on your new diet. Eating the same things often will lead to boredom and a sense of deprivation. A diet with a variety of foods helps you remain balanced.
Try various weight-loss methods, and you may find something that will be more effective than the plans you were following. You can indeed lose weight.
