Losing weight is a common New Year’s resolution. Many of us, however, struggle with how to achieve this goal, and without some research and a clearcut plan, it can often feel like we’re blindly stumbling around in the dark.

Eating a good breakfast is going to allow your body to know that you don’t need to eat so much later on in the day so you can lose weight.
Don’t work out. If you don’t find exercise appealing, then find something else to do. Try to trick your mind by doing activities that are fun like riding a bike, going on a hiking trail, or throwing around the football as exercise. You may find these activities rewarding and more pleasurable.
To really keep your weight off, avoid eating for a few hours before you go to bed. This may seem like a hard thing to avoid, but it is in your best interest to do so. The food you eat before laying down for bed does not get burned as quickly because your metabolic rate has slowed down in preparation for sleep. Instead of eating, spend the evening doing something more productive, such as reading, thus avoiding temptation.
Don’t overdo it on the caffeine. There has been research that shows caffeine may slow down your stored fat burning.
Constantly being around active people can help you shed pounds. This will help you to move around more, which can burn additional calories. Spending time with a couch potato will likely influence you to curl up on the couch with them.
Keeping active is the best way to achieve weight loss. Sit down as little as possible throughout the day. When you keep yourself active throughout the day, you burn more calories. Staying active and focusing more on exercise means you can lose weight and still eat well.
Split meals with friends when eating out. You usually are going to be served what amounts to two or three portions in the typical restaurant meal. Get 2 plates and share with someone that’s with you. You will eat less and save money as well.
Avoid trigger foods. Keep a log with your food intake and your emotional state every day. Doing so can aid you in finding the triggers that cause overeating and assist you in deciding what changes to make.
