Cut potatoes into 1/2″ fries, toss in a large bowl with 1 tbsp. of oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and a bit of rosemary if you like, and bake in a single layer at 400 degrees for 30 min. Loosen it with a spatula; turn and bake for approximately 10 more minutes. Dipped in catsup, they are quite tasty and contain far fewer fat calories. You won’t even miss the deep fried effect. These fries are a terrific addition to anyone’s recipe box.

If you are trying to lose a few pounds quickly, drink plenty of water. If you drink about a half gallon of water daily for a week and decrease your food intake, you are going to lose water weight. This is not fat loss, but is a quick way to get the first five pounds off and quick-start your weight loss program.

Drink a protein shake for a snack when you are hungry. When you mix a small bit of protein powder together with ice then drinking it when you begin to feel hungry, then your diet won’t be compromised and neither will your self-confidence.

Before leaving for work, allow time for a morning breakfast. When pressed for time, you may be tempted to grab a fast food breakfast on your way to work. These are often not very nutritional. Fruit and a bowl of oatmeal can equal a great breakfast as opposed to something like a pastry.

Do not skip meals for any reason if you want to eat better. You might think that skipping meals makes you thinner but in fact, your body is going to store as much fat as possible in case there should be more skipped meals. Eat small quantities and stick to moderation if you desire to maintain success.

Make sure that you do not eat too many calories. Losing weight occurs when you consume less calories than you’re burning up. Try to choose foods that are packed with fiber to keep hunger pangs at bay. Drink lots of water to help keep hunger in check.
