French Fries

There are few that will say they do not enjoy eating french fries. They’ve gotten in the way of many people’s weight loss goals. Baked fries, however, can be a way of still enjoying french fries while sticking to your diet. Cut potatoes into 1/2″ fries, toss in a large bowl with 1 tbsp. of oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and a bit of rosemary if you like, and bake in a single layer at 400 degrees for 30 min. Loosen it by using a spatula, bake and turn it for another ten minutes or so. These fries are great with catsup and contain far fewer calories than their deep-fried counterparts. This recipe was taken from Laurel’s Kitchen Cookbook.

When trying to lose weight, be sure to keep healthy snacks at home. Buy yourself a large resealable container. Purchase fresh vegetables like celery, carrots and radishes. Lay out the veggies in the container over a layer of ice with a little water and store them in the fridge. You will always have a handy snack on hand which is easy to grab and go!

To help in your fight against the bulge, get an exercise buddy. This helps you think of exercise as a fun social time rather than a chore. Having a friend with you will give you someone to encourage you and help you achieve your goals. This will help you look forward to your exercising sessions, which will be helpful in losing weight.

Document your calorie intake. This can be done in a lined journal or notepad. You can turn this into journal about your eating habits.
