Cut your potatoes about a 1/2″ thick, put them into a bowl with a tbsp. of oil, then lightly add a pinch of rosemary (optional), salt, and pepper; bake one layer for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Loosen it with a spatula; turn and bake for approximately 10 more minutes. They are wonderful with ketchup, and they are also much lower in calories of fat. You will not miss the fried version. Shed old weight gaining habits for new weight loss habits. You have a better chance of sticking to your diet by focusing on positive changes. Replace old habits with new habits for success in weight loss. You will find this is much easier than attempting to simply stop enjoying certain foods (such as donuts). It’s far easier to develop new habits than to break bad ones.
Select leaner cuts of meat to improve your weight-loss diet. Substitute simple salsas or chutneys for sweet barbecue or fattening cream sauces. This will add flavor and keep your meat moist. Chutney is a great seasoning to try for all types of protein.
Take before-loss and after-loss photos to illustrate your progress. You can then see how much you’ve lost, instead of relying on scale numbers. This also gives you a simple way to demonstrate your progress to friends and relatives.
Walk up the stairs. It might just be one flight or a more challenging multi-floor trip but it is a great workout for muscles and metabolism. While this may seem like a very small deal, you are getting a great cardio workout if you take the stairs. This is healthy and helps with weight loss. When you get used to doing this, you may even want to start running up them!
