Do not skip out on any meals when on a diet. Skipping meals causes the body to crave even more food, tempting you to overindulge or make unwise choices when you finally do sit down to your next meal. You need to drink water to lose weight. However, you may not know that drinking iced water can make your metabolism work harder. Your metabolism has to work harder if your body temperature is lowered, and this is where cold water comes in.
French Fries
It is hard to find someone who does not love the taste of french fries. It is important to avoid them if it all possible. If you crave the tastes of french fries, bake them instead of frying them. Cut potatoes up into individual fries, add some oil, pepper and salt to them for taste, and them bake them in the oven for a half hour at approximately 400 degrees. Use a spatula to turn it and then continue baking for ten more minutes. These fries are great with catsup and contain far fewer calories than their deep-fried counterparts. This “French bake” recipe comes from Laurel’s Kitchen cookbook.
You do not need to avoid restaurants completely when you are dieting. Be aware that most restaurant portions are very large. Before beginning your meal, request a take-out box from the waiter in order to put away half of your food; you can save it for a later time. Doing this provides you with an extra meal for later, and helps you cut back.
It is imperative that you keep an account of the calories you eat every day. You need to figure out how many calories you need every day. Then record the calories you are consuming in each meal. Once you know how many calories you need each day, you can work to stay within your limits.
Develop a workout schedule. You have to know exactly when to exercise so you don’t skip it. Choose one time of day to exercise and then stick with it daily.
